"Serenity in My Knapsack"

I found serenity in my knapsack.

Salts of Earth keep one on track.

Consuming berries as I lay

By foaming waters on a beautiful day.

The fruits of my labor are hardly enjoyed

While the other nuts are seen as mere toys.

Life comes so easy for someone like me.

Another must toil when born as a bee.

The luck of the draw, the creed and the clan

Determine the fate of any one man.

Strive as ye may, stretch as ye might,

The spoils of victory are still a birthright.

I found serenity in my knapsack;

It was packed by my parents.

Winning the luck of the draw,

My golden genes made apparent.

"Futile Exercise in Space-Time"

Spending time for myself, I needed some space.

Pondering how futile is man, the arrogance of my race.

Aryan conquers. I do implore

Why metal floats in the sky, oil sinks to sea floor.

We boast and wallow in arrogant pride.

In grief and in sadness, I make this aside.

Can our terrible actions be justified?

A small speck of dust, I solemnly cried.

Concern for today's profits can get one high.

Artificial constructs pass quickly in time.

Hope for next generations continues to wane.

Is it true? Is it real? Am I simply insane?

I hope you get fit, cuz that's what it takes.

Unless you incorporate or put on the brakes.

Spending time for myself, I needed some space.

Pondering how futile is man, the arrogance of my race.
